Looking at Shift At Midnight, an Indie/Simulation release from Bun Muen. We work through the official specs, estimate frame rates on 28 GPUs, size up the VRAM and processor needs and suggest settings and laptop options.

How this game ranks among 937 modelled titles, and how that plays out for entry, mid-range and high-end cards.
With a demand score of 23, Shift At Midnight asks more of a GPU than 68% of the 937 games in our list. We call that moderately demanding.
Behind the number is the publisher recommended card, GTX 1660 Ti (6GB) or Equivalent, converted to an equivalent 1080p High workload. That makes the score comparable between games, though not exact for any single one.
On the CPU side, Shift At Midnight scores 35, ahead of 87% of the 937 modelled games.
Official minimum and recommended specs for Shift At Midnight, translated into frame rates.
Taken from the Steam store page; developers can revise these with updates.
At the bottom end, Steam gives GTX 1050 Ti or Equivalent. That card manages roughly 51 FPS at 1080p on Low according to our estimates, falling to close to 28 FPS on High.
Steam suggests GTX 1660 Ti (6GB) or Equivalent as the recommended card, good for about 80 FPS at 1080p and 52 FPS at 1440p on High here. That is above 60 FPS at 1080p, so the recommended spec reads as a comfortable 1080p target.
On the CPU side the recommended entry is Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, which our model rates at roughly 102 FPS of frame preparation for Shift At Midnight.
Memory is listed as 8 GB RAM at minimum and 16 GB RAM recommended, with 3 GB available space needed on disk.

The memory and storage Steam asks for, and how to read it.
Memory first. Steam sets 8 GB RAM as the minimum and 16 GB RAM as the recommended amount. With Windows, a browser and a chat app open, 16 GB leaves comfortable headroom.
Storage is listed at about 3 GB. Expect around 5 min to download on a 100 Mbps line, or roughly 1 min on 500 Mbps.
Steam does not state an SSD requirement, so an SSD still improves loading times, but a hard drive should not stop the game launching.
Size your memory with the RAM calculator: it adds Windows, a browser and any streaming to the game's own needs. Time the download with the download time calculator.

Steam user reviews put Shift At Midnight at Very Positive (94% positive from 5,264 reviews, checked 2026-11-02). It is a measure of popularity and sentiment, not of technical performance.
It was out for about 4 months when we wrote this guide, so expect patches and driver updates to move the numbers a little over time.
Details here come from Steam's public store listing. We have not benchmarked every card, so treat the frame rates on this page as modelled figures.
A short, honest note on how the numbers are produced.
The inputs for Shift At Midnight are a graphics demand of 23 (taken from the recommended card), a processor score of 35 (from the listed processor line) and 4 GB of VRAM at 1080p High (estimated from the demand score).
The model divides a card's performance score by the game demand, scaled for resolution, preset and upscaling, with a penalty when memory runs short and a ceiling set by a fast reference processor.
All FPS, VRAM and CPU figures are modelled. They are meant for comparing hardware and settings, and your own testing should have the last word.
Short answers to the most common questions about running Shift At Midnight on PC.
The minimum card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or Equivalent and the recommended card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (6GB) or Equivalent. For the processor, Steam suggests Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or Equivalent, and RAM runs from 8 GB RAM to 16 GB RAM. Storage needed is 3 GB available space.
The quickest route is the can my PC run it checker. As a rule of thumb, the GTX 1660 Super is the first card we tested that holds 60 FPS at 1080p on High.
For 60 FPS at 1080p on High you want at least the GTX 1660 Super. Among RTX 50 cards the RTX 5050 is the first to clear it.
At 1440p, 60 FPS on High starts with the RTX 2060. In the RTX 50 range that means the RTX 5050 or above.
At High settings it should manage about 113 FPS (1080p) and 73 FPS (1440p). 12 GB of VRAM is comfortable for 1440p, so you can usually raise the settings.
Expect close to 173 FPS at native 1440p on High, or about 231 FPS upscaled. Your processor and drivers can shift the result.
The RTX 5050 is the entry point for 4K here, and only with Quality upscaling switched on.
Expect 4 GB at 1080p, 5.2 GB at 1440p and 7.2 GB at 4K. That leaves 8GB fine for 1080p and fine for 1440p, so keep a margin.
High settings come out at roughly 4 GB, 5.2 GB and 7.2 GB for 1080p, 1440p and 4K. These are derived from the publisher recommended specs.
Steam points to Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or Equivalent and lists Intel Core i5-10400F or Equivalent as the minimum. Our CPU table shows Core i3-12100F, Ryzen 5 3600, Core i5-12400F, Ryzen 5 5600 and faster holding a card above 60 FPS.
Memory runs from 8 GB RAM to 16 GB RAM. Allowing for Windows and everyday apps, 16 GB is a sensible target.
Steam does not state an SSD requirement, but an SSD is recommended for loading times. Plan for 3 GB available space of free space.
