Short version
  • By our estimates the RTX 5050 is the first desktop RTX 50 card to achieve 60 FPS at 1440p on High settings, and the RTX 5050 at 1080p.
  • Plan for about 2.6 GB of VRAM at 1440p, so 8GB cards are workable.
  • For 4K at 60 FPS you want upscaling on a card like the RTX 5050 or better.
  • Silver Pines sits at 7 on our demand scale, which is tougher than 28% of the 937 games we model.
  • Steam asks for NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 alongside Intel Core i5-6600.

Where Silver Pines ranks for hardware demand

Where it lands among 937 modelled titles, and what that means for different classes of GPU.

With a demand score of 7, Silver Pines asks more of a GPU than 28% of the 937 games in our list. We call that undemanding.

The score is derived from the recommended GPU in the publisher requirements, NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 770, scaled to a 1080p High equivalent. It is a modelling choice rather than a measurement, so read it as a ranking more than a promise.

What it means by card class

  • On a mid-range card, the RTX 5070, expect the frame rate to be capped by the game or CPU: roughly 360+ FPS at 1080p, 360+ FPS at 1440p.
  • On an entry card, the RTX 5060, expect the frame rate to be capped by the game or CPU: roughly 360+ FPS at 1080p, 348 FPS at 1440p.
  • With a high-end card such as the RTX 5080 the game is limited by its engine long before the card, with roughly 360+ FPS at 1080p and 360+ FPS at 1440p by our model.
  • With an enthusiast card such as the RTX 5090 the game is limited by its engine long before the card, with roughly 360+ FPS at 1080p and 360+ FPS at 1440p by our model.

Processor demand is rated separately: Silver Pines scores 21 on our CPU scale, higher than 21% of the games we model.

How the published specs translate to frame rates

At the bottom end, Steam gives NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti. That card manages roughly 84 FPS at 1080p on Low by our estimates, falling to roughly 46 FPS on High.

Steam suggests NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 as the recommended card, good for close to 77 FPS at 1080p and 50 FPS at 1440p on High here. That is above 60 FPS at 1080p, so the recommended spec reads as a comfortable 1080p target.

For the processor, Steam gives Intel Core i5-6600. In our model a chip in that class can prepare close to 100 FPS in this game, so it will not hold back most mid-range cards.

Memory is listed as 8 GB RAM at minimum and 8 GB RAM recommended, with 5 GB available space needed on disk.

The lowest card we tested that holds 60 FPS at 1080p on High is the GTX 1060 6GB, and the first desktop RTX 50 card to do it is the RTX 5050.

Raise the target to 1440p and the bar moves: the GTX 1060 6GB is the lowest card to reach 60 FPS on High, while the RTX 5050 is the first RTX 50 card to get there.

At 4K, expect to lean on upscaling. The RTX 5050 is the first desktop RTX 50 card to reach 60 FPS on High once Quality upscaling is switched on.

NVIDIA, AMD and Intel cards all appear in the list. For a personal answer with your own CPU and RAM, use the can my PC run it checker or look for a CPU bottleneck with the bottleneck checker.

Minimum CPU: Intel Core i5-4460. Recommended: Intel Core i5-6600. The table converts processor strength into a ceiling on frames per second for Silver Pines.

Silver Pines is gentle on processors (below most of the games we model), so even a budget chip should keep a mid-range card busy.

The Core i5-12400F caps at roughly 212 FPS in Silver Pines by our model. Beyond that frame rate the CPU, not the card, sets the pace.

Check your own CPU and GPU together in the bottleneck checker and our system bottlenecks guide.

Not every pairing is balanced. 7 of the seven below are held back by the processor at 1440p, starting with RTX 4060 plus Core i3-12100F (CPU ceiling near 162 FPS against close to 299 FPS of graphics power).

The best-balanced pairing is the RTX 5090 with Ryzen 7 9800X3D: its processor ceiling (close to 360+ FPS) sits close to what the card can draw (roughly 360+ FPS) at 1440p, so neither part is wasted.

These pairings are examples, not recommendations to buy. Swap in your own parts with the bottleneck checker to see which side limits you.

Silver Pines memory and disk space

What Steam gives for memory and disk space, and what it means in practice.

Minimum RAM8 GB RAM
Recommended RAM8 GB RAM
Storage5 GB available spacefree space

The publisher lists 8 GB RAM of memory as the minimum and 8 GB RAM as recommended. In real use, with everything else running, 16 GB is enough for most people.

The install asks for roughly 5 GB. Downloading it takes around 8 min at 100 Mbps and close to 2 min at 500 Mbps, allowing for overhead.

On drives: Steam does not insist on an SSD, though one will shorten loads.

Size your memory with the RAM calculator: it adds Windows, a browser and any streaming to the game's own needs. Check how long the install takes with the download time calculator.

  • After that, cut the most expensive settings. Shadows, volumetric effects and draw distance usually cost the most, if the game offers them.
  • Adjust a single setting at once and note the effect on FPS before moving on.
  • Keep textures high when your card has the memory. They barely touch frame rate. The model puts this game at 2.6 GB for 1440p.
  • Cap your frame rate to your monitor to save power and heat, and check the VRR and frame cap calculator for a sensible figure.
  • Start with upscaling. You lose little sharpness and gain a lot of speed. Take the gentlest mode that reaches the frame rate you want.

Settings assume the game offers an upscaler; check the graphics menu. For advice matched to your own PC, use the best settings generator and compare upscaling modes in the DLSS and frame generation estimator.

Genre tips: playing Silver Pines well on PC

General guidance for this kind of game, chosen from the Steam genres and features.

Steam gives Silver Pines under Action, Adventure, Indie, so these general tips apply. They are hedged guidance rather than facts about the game's engine.

  • Full controller support is listed, so playing from the sofa on a TV is an option, where 60 FPS is usually the sensible target.
  • Exploration-heavy adventures tend to hitch when new areas load, which an SSD and spare VRAM can soften.
  • Small teams sometimes skip advanced graphics menus, so resolution scaling and a frame cap may be your best tools.
  • Action games feel best when frame times are even, so lowering one costly setting is usually better than chasing a high peak.
  • Open and large RPG worlds stream in data constantly, so an SSD and enough VRAM help keep movement smooth.

The facts above are from the public Steam store page. We have not benchmarked every card, so treat the frame rates on this page as estimates from our model.

Method: where the Silver Pines numbers come from

A short, honest note on how the numbers are produced.

Three numbers drive this page: graphics demand 7 (from the recommended card), CPU score 21 (from the listed processor line) and VRAM of 2 GB at 1080p High (estimated from the demand score).

In short: card performance divided by game demand, adjusted for resolution, preset and upscaling, reduced when VRAM is short and capped by processor speed.

Nothing on this page is a measured benchmark. Expect real frame rates to differ with drivers, updates and your own system, and treat the tables as a guide.
