GPU price to performance calculator
Add up to five graphics cards with their prices. See which gives the best value in your game, ranked by pounds per frame.
How value is calculated
For each card the tool estimates frame rates in your chosen game, resolution and quality, then divides the price by the frame rate to give pounds per FPS. Cards are ranked from the best value to the worst, with the fastest and cheapest options flagged. VRAM is shown because a card that runs out of memory in your game can lose far more speed than the price suggests.
Reading the ranking
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| FPS | Estimated frame rate in your game and settings. |
| £ per FPS | Price divided by FPS. Lower is better value. |
| vs best value | How much more each frame costs than the best-value card. |
| VRAM | Memory. Check it fits your games. |
Compare the cards in more detail with the GPU comparison tool, work out the upgrade with the upgrade value calculator and check running costs in the electricity cost calculator.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compare graphics card value?
Divide each card's price by the frame rate it delivers in the game and resolution you play. The lowest cost per frame is the best value for that setup. The calculator does this for up to five cards using your own current prices, then ranks them.
Is the cheapest cost per frame always the best buy?
Not always. The cheapest per-frame card may be slower than you need, or have too little VRAM for your games. Look at the FPS and memory columns too, and pick the card that reaches your target frame rate rather than only the lowest cost per frame.
Where do I get graphics card prices?
Use current UK retailer prices for the exact models you are considering, including any offers. Prices change often, which is why the calculator lets you type them in instead of using fixed figures. The example prices shown at the start are only placeholders.
Does the calculator include power cost?
No, it compares purchase price only. Running cost can add up for power-hungry cards, so check the electricity cost calculator on this site as well. A slightly dearer but more efficient card can be cheaper over a few years of heavy use.
