FINAL FANTASY TACTICS - The Ivalice Chronicles is a RPG and Strategy title by Square Enix, out for around 14 months. This guide covers the official PC requirements, modelled frame rates on 28 GPUs, VRAM needs, processor and memory advice, the best settings and laptop performance.

How this game ranks among 937 modelled titles, and what that means for different classes of GPU.
With a demand score of 4, FINAL FANTASY TACTICS - The Ivalice Chronicles asks more of a GPU than 0% of the 937 games in our list. We call that undemanding.
It comes from the recommended card on the Steam page (AMD Radeon™ RX 470 / Intel® Arc™ A380 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 750 Ti), which we map onto a common performance scale and convert to 1080p High. Treat it as a relative guide.
Its CPU score is 19, so it asks more of a processor than 18% of the games in our list.
Everything Steam names for FINAL FANTASY TACTICS - The Ivalice Chronicles, then what it means for real hardware.

Verdicts below use High settings throughout. For older cards a weak result mostly means lowering the preset, since Low and Medium settings recover a lot of speed in our model.
The step from an RTX 5060 (360+ FPS at 1440p) to an RTX 5070 (360+ FPS) is around 0% in our model, a useful yardstick when choosing between the two.
One plan per resolution, each aimed at a steady 60 FPS in this game.
At 1080p, GTX 1660 Super, RTX 3060 12GB, RTX 4060 hold 60 FPS natively on High in our model, so you can leave DLSS, FSR or XeSS-style upscaling off and spend the headroom on settings.
Use the table as a starting point: it shows the highest preset that still hits 60 FPS for each card at 1080p.
| Card | Best preset | Upscaling | Est. FPS |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTX 1660 Super | Ultra | Native | 353 |
| RTX 3060 12GB | Ultra | Native | 360+ |

What Steam names for memory and disk space, and what it means in practice.
For RAM, expect 8 GB RAM at minimum and 8 GB RAM recommended. Allow for the operating system and background apps, which means 16 GB is a sensible floor.
On disk, plan for around 15 GB free. At 100 Mbps with typical overhead that is roughly 24 min to download, or around 5 min at 500 Mbps.
On drives: Steam does not insist on an SSD, though one will shorten loads.
Work out your total in the RAM calculator, which counts Windows, background apps and streaming on top of the game. Estimate the wait with the download time calculator.

The facts above are from the public Steam store page. We have not tested the game on every card, so frame rates on this page are modelled figures.
A short, honest note on how the numbers are produced.
For FINAL FANTASY TACTICS - The Ivalice Chronicles the demand score of 4 comes from the recommended GPU, the CPU score of 19 from the listed processor line, and the VRAM figure of 2 GB at 1080p High is estimated from the demand score.
In short: card performance divided by game demand, adjusted for resolution, preset and upscaling, reduced when VRAM is short and capped by processor speed.
Nothing on this page is a measured benchmark. Expect real frame rates to differ with drivers, updates and your own system, and treat the tables as a guide.
Short answers to the most common questions about running FINAL FANTASY TACTICS - The Ivalice Chronicles on PC.
On the Steam page the entry card is AMD Radeon™ RX 460 / Intel® Arc™ A380 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 750 Ti and the recommended card is AMD Radeon™ RX 470 / Intel® Arc™ A380 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 750 Ti, with AMD Ryzen™ 3 2300X / Intel® Core™ i3-8100 as the processor and RAM of 8 GB RAM at minimum (8 GB RAM recommended). Storage needed is 15 GB available space.
The quickest route is the can my PC run it checker. As a rule of thumb, the GTX 1060 6GB is the first card we tested that holds 60 FPS at 1080p on High.
The GTX 1060 6GB is where 1080p at 60 FPS on High starts in our model, and the RTX 5050 is the cheapest RTX 50 way to get there.
For a smooth 1440p you want the GTX 1060 6GB at minimum, and among RTX 50 cards the RTX 5050 is the first that gets there.
At High settings it should manage around 360+ FPS (1080p) and 360+ FPS (1440p). 16 GB of VRAM is comfortable for 1440p, so you can usually raise the settings.
The model shows 360+ FPS at 1440p on High and 360+ FPS once Quality upscaling is on. Treat both as estimates.
For 4K you want a high-end card with DLSS, FSR or XeSS-style upscaling. On our figures the RTX 5050 is the first desktop RTX 50 card to achieve 60 FPS at 4K on High with Quality upscaling.
We estimate around 2 GB at 1080p, 2.6 GB at 1440p and 3.6 GB at 4K using the High preset. So 8GB is fine at 1080p and fine at 1440p. Use it as a guide and leave some memory spare.
High settings come out at roughly 2 GB, 2.6 GB and 3.6 GB for 1080p, 1440p and 4K. These are derived from the publisher recommended specs.
The recommended processor is AMD Ryzen™ 3 2300X / Intel® Core™ i3-8100 and lists AMD Ryzen™ 3 2300X / Intel® Core™ i3-8100 as the minimum. In the model, Core i3-12100F, Ryzen 5 3600, Core i5-12400F, Ryzen 5 5600 and faster keep a GPU fed above 60 FPS in this game.
Steam names 8 GB RAM as the minimum and 8 GB RAM as recommended. With Windows and a browser or chat app open, 16 GB is a sensible target.
Plan for 15 GB available space of free space. Steam does not state an SSD requirement, but an SSD is recommended for loading times.
At typical wattage, RTX 5050 Laptop, RTX 5060 Laptop, RTX 5070 Laptop, RTX 5070 Ti Laptop, RTX 5080 Laptop, RTX 5090 Laptop reach 60 FPS at 1080p on High in our model. Power limit and cooling decide how close a real laptop gets.
