Cairn is an Action/Adventure/Indie game by The Game Bakers, out for around 10 months. This guide covers the official PC requirements, modelled frame rates on 28 GPUs, VRAM needs, processor and memory advice, the best settings and laptop performance.

Where this game sits among 937 modelled titles, with a look at what that means for each class of card.
We rate the graphics demand of Cairn at 32. That puts it above 83% of the 937 modelled games and firmly in the demanding band.
The score is derived from the recommended GPU in the publisher requirements, Geforce RTX 2060 Super (6144 MB), scaled to a 1080p High equivalent. It is a modelling choice rather than a measurement, so read it as a ranking more than a promise.
Its CPU score is 40, so it asks more of a processor than 89% of the games in our list.
Everything The Steam page lists for Cairn, then what it means for real hardware.
These are the developer figures on Steam, and patches can change them.
At the bottom end, The Steam page lists GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4096 MB). That card manages roughly 37 FPS at 1080p on Low by our estimates, falling to close to 20 FPS on High.
The recommended card, Geforce RTX 2060 Super (6144 MB), delivers close to 68 FPS at 1080p and 39 FPS at 1440p on High by our model. That is above 60 FPS at 1080p, so the recommended spec reads as a comfortable 1080p target.
Steam asks for Intel Core i7-10700 (8 * 2900) at the recommended level. That class of processor tops out near 101 FPS in Cairn by our model.
You will need 8 GB RAM of RAM at minimum or 8 GB RAM to match the recommended spec, plus 10 GB available space on your drive.

Start at the RTX 2060 if you want 60 FPS at 1080p on High. Among current RTX 50 cards, the RTX 5050 is the first to manage it.
For a smooth 1440p on High you want at least the RTX 4060. Within the RTX 50 range that means the RTX 5060 or above.
At 4K, expect to lean on upscaling. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is the first desktop RTX 50 card to hit 60 FPS on High once Quality upscaling is switched on.
The table covers NVIDIA, AMD and Intel cards. For a personal answer with your own CPU and RAM, use the can my PC run it checker and check for a processor limit in the bottleneck checker.

What The Steam page lists for memory and disk space, and what it means in practice.
The publisher lists 8 GB RAM of memory as the minimum and 8 GB RAM as recommended. In real use, with everything else running, 16 GB is enough for most people.
On disk, plan for around 10 GB free. At 100 Mbps with typical overhead that is roughly 16 min to download, or close to 3 min at 500 Mbps.
Steam notes that an SSD is needed or advised, so install it on a solid-state drive for loading times and smooth streaming.
Size your memory with the RAM calculator: it adds Windows, a browser and any streaming to the game's own needs. Time the download with the download time calculator.

Steam user reviews put Cairn at Very Positive (94% positive from 10,064 reviews, checked 2026-11-02). It is a measure of popularity and sentiment, not of technical performance.
Being out for around 10 months, Cairn may still receive performance patches, so keep it updated and keep your graphics drivers current.
Details here come from Steam's public store listing. We have not benchmarked every card, so treat the frame rates on this page as modelled figures.
A short, honest note on how the numbers are produced.
Here is what feeds the estimates: demand 32 from the recommended card, CPU score 40 (from the listed processor line), and a 1080p High VRAM figure of 5 GB (estimated from the demand score).
Each card is scored against the game demand, then scaled for resolution, quality preset and DLSS, FSR or XeSS-style upscaling. If a card has less VRAM than the game wants, the estimate drops, and a processor ceiling stops frame rates running away.
Nothing on this page is a measured benchmark. Expect real frame rates to differ with drivers, updates and your own system, and treat the tables as a guide.
Quick answers about Cairn requirements, GPUs, memory and settings.
